Dear Friends,
It all starts with a home. Having a safe, affordable place to rest one’s head at night is a critical foundation for leading a healthy and successful life. For over 25 years, ACCT has been helping provide that foundation for our low- and moderate-income neighbors, encompassing thousands of families since 1990.
Though our presence in the community touches over 900 individuals and has a footprint of dozens of properties—over 600 units total—not many Addison County residents are necessarily aware of our work. At the same time, we hear increasing concern from the community about the lack of affordable housing options in the area, and what’s being done about it.
I’m pleased to announce the launch of this quarterly newsletter to tell our story. We’ll share brief snapshots of life in ACCT housing, as well as interesting information about what we and the larger VT community are doing to address the housing shortage and affordability crisis. I hope you’ll join us on this journey, but if you prefer to keep up with us in other ways please feel free to unsubscribe from future publications.
Thank you for being a supporter and taking the time to let this missive interrupt your busy day and cluttered inbox.
Best Wishes,
Elise Shanbacker
