ACCT held a Special Meeting of the Membership on June 1 to begin working on new bylaws for the organization. ACCT was originally established as a membership organization, and many parts of the bylaws require a membership vote to make changes or carry out certain activities. Anyone who attended the Special Meeting was eligible to become a member, as ACCT has not maintained an active membership in recent years. The warned agenda items voted on include 1) establishing the membership as attendees of the meeting, 2) authorizing the Board proactively to amend the bylaws, and 3) removing the requirement for a membership vote in order for ACCT to sell or transfer land, except in cases where members would be directly affected by the sale (e.g. residents of a mobile home park).
